The Chicago Board Options Exchange - CBOE - is located in Chicago, Illinois at 400 South La Salle Street. This is considered the largest options exchange in the United States. It was founded in 73 by the Chicago Board of Trade. It is regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission - SEC. This exchange offers exchange traded funds, stock in dices, and options on more than 2200 companies. The Options Clearing Corporation, commonly known as OCC, clears the contracts. The CBSX launched by the CBOE in 2007 competes today with the NYSE, and also the NASDAQ, and with other regional exchanges. The parent company CBOE Holdings, Inc. became public in 2010.
